About us

Founded in Hong Kong in 2021, Laiwan is an independent game studio of a dozen people. From handheld pixels to the big screen, we have shipped three titles played by over two million players. We believe great games are not about scale — they are about feel, pacing and surprise.

Game feel first

Small by design

We deliberately stay small, so everyone owns the work and obsesses over quality.

We make games we would keep playing ourselves. Everything else comes after.

Milestones

  1. 2021

    Laiwan founded in Hong Kong — three people and a whiteboard.

  2. 2023

    Our first title, Neon Runner, ships.

  3. 2024

    Pixel Harbour ships on iOS, Android and Steam.

  4. 2026

    Mist of Shan Hai ships and is nominated for Best Art at Taipei Game Show; the Switch version passes 500k copies across platforms.

  5. 2027

    Project Sky in development, aiming for PC and consoles.
